Madison was diagnosed with IBS in 2010 and idiopathic hypersomnia in 2021. She received her Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome diagnosis in 2023, after reading an article on Christmas Day written by a mother whose daughter had recently been diagnosed. The article listed dozens of symptoms, and Madison realized she had every single one. Prior to her diagnosis she has pursued a wide range of both alternative and Western medical treatments in search of relief, including a strict elimination diet that limited her to just 20 foods for four years. Madison is also a committed mental health advocate as she continues to navigate persistent depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading in an infrared sauna, writing bad poetry, and watching reality TV. You can find her on Instagram at @maddiemkrieg.
