Trying to make an appointment

Why is it so hard to get an appointment with a sleep doctor? I had an appt that took three months waiting. Five days before the appointment, I received a text saying it needed to be cancelled. I called the office and now have to wait another two months. I called a few other larger clinics and I couldn’t get in until Feb 2027. This is crazy!

  1. Same. I waited 2-3 months for an appointment, which I thought was very strange since I live in a large city.

I know it’s frustrating but hopefully you are at the home stretch. Answers and effective treatment will soon follow!!! Be encourage

  2. No explanation. Only cancelation option is to call between 2-4 on Fridays. No list. I have a rheumatologist and I got in to see him in a month. I used to work for an eye specialist and we saw new patients same day. They don’t care that you haven’t slept for 20 years but your eyesight is way more critical. Not fair.

    1. I was able to find another office that can see me in a month. I took the appointment since at least it’s closer. It’s with a PA but if can at least get established somewhere, maybe I can get a test.

    2. Fantastic! I hope this PA gets the ball rolling for you. Getting the testing out of the way can be really helpful. Keep me posted if you don't mind. - Lori (Team Member)

  3. That's really maddening. I wish you didn't have such a long wait, especially since they are the party that cancelled. Did they at least offer an explanation? Have you asked to be placed on the cancellation list? Unfortunately, the situation is the same with many different specialists. My sister had to wait 10 months to see a rheumatogist in her area. - Lori (Team Member)
